Jeremiah the prophet lived in the final days of the crumbling nation of Judah. "Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts concerning the prophets, ‘Behold, I am going to feed them wormwood And make them drink poisonous water, For from the prophets of Jerusalem Pollution has gone forth into all the land. My heart within me is broken because of the prophets: Jeremiah was distressed because of the presence and work of other prophets in his day.
